Sending a fax from a laptop?

It took me through some steps where I created a cover page, entered the fax number, and then pressed the send button. It said the fax has been sent.

Is there any way to be sure I sent it correctly and they recieved it? I was reading someone elses post, and one person said you need to configure your laptop to send a fax using the windows fax wizard. Since I didn’t use the wizard first did it not send my fax? Or is what I did through Word good enough to send it?
